On June 10, the 3 Million Kilowatt Photovoltaic Base in Inner Mongolia Ordos Coal Mining Subsidence Area under CHN Energy completed the installation of a 1-million-kilowatt photovoltaic module.

The project is one of the second batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base projects focusing on “Desert, Gobi and Barren areas” in China. After the completion of the project, the average annual on-grid power is about 5.669 billion kWh, which can save 1.71 million tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 4.7 million tons, and reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 572 tons, positively contributing to the protection of the environment.

In the face of the difficulty in construction management, CHN Energy adopts intelligent site construction, using drones for automatic cruising and panoramic visualization management, comprehensively monitors and manages the quality, safety, and progress of the construction.

"Previously, the piling diameter of precast cement piles holding the photovoltaic panel was about 400 millimeters. Now the flat single-axis piling base is made of H-type steel piles with a width of 100 millimeters, which can support photovoltaic panels of the same weight. The H-type square steel is easy to install and can reduce the use of concrete and the construction cost.” The engineer said.
