CHN Energy's Anji Power Plant in Zhejiang recently completed the hoisting of its No. 1 gas turbine. This milestone marks the start of installation for China's largest and most efficient gas-fired power generation unit.
The unit employs upgraded H-class gas-steam combined cycle technology (model 9HA.02), achieving a generation efficiency of up to 64.15%. This represents an approximately 17-percentage-point increase compared to coal-fired units of equivalent capacity.
Scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2025, the project will generate an annual output of 7 billion kWh once both turbines become fully operational. This capacity can meet the yearly electricity demand of approximately 6 million residents. The plant is expected to save 670,000 metric tons of standard coal annually, providing clean power support for energy supply in East China.
