The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit will be held in north China’s Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. For the first time, the event will be entirely powered by green electricity, all supplied by CHN Energy Longyuan Power Tianjin Branch.
The green electricity for the summit is sourced from Bohua PV Station and Gangnan Wind Farm, both operated by Longyuan Power Tianjin Branch. Bohua PV Station is CHN Energy’s first salt-PV-fishery integrated demonstration project, with a total installed capacity of 440 MW and an average annual electricity output of approximately 770 GWh. Gangnan Wind Farm has a total installed capacity of 45 MW and generates about 120 GWh of electricity per year.
To ensure a stable green power supply during the summit, the company has made advanced preparations, utilizing big data to monitor equipment performance and conducting predictive maintenance and targeted troubleshooting. Comprehensive inspections have been carried out on all power supply facilities to ensure optimal operational conditions.
As one of China’s largest energy enterprises, CHN Energy continues to drive the green transition of the energy sector. Its subsidiary, Longyuan Power, has maintained its position as the world’s largest wind power operator since 2015, providing strong support for the green electricity supply at this summit.
