A Russian energy delegation led by Oleg Budargin, Vice Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), visited the National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) under CHN Energy on May 27. The two sides exchanged views on energy transition, low-carbon technology innovation and industrial cooperation.

National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon Energy (NICE)
During the visit, the Russian delegation toured the institute’s exhibition hall and learned in detail about the latest R&D progress in hydrogen (ammonia) energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), energy storage, and coal-based new materials. The Russian representatives spoke highly of NICE’s achievements in technology development and industrial application, and introduced Russia’s latest developments in energy structure upgrading, renewable energy deployment and science-and-technology-driven industries. Both sides expressed their hope to further strengthen communication and cooperation, deepen technical exchanges and mutual learning, and jointly advance the green and low-carbon development of the energy sector.
Over the years, NICE has continuously expanded international cooperation in low-carbon technologies, with partnerships spanning Europe and multiple countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. As an important energy cooperation partner of China and a key participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, Russia plays a significant role in advancing bilateral collaboration. This exchange effectively consolidated the foundation for future cooperation, deepened practical collaboration in low-carbon energy technologies, and injected new momentum into the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy sector.
